The Goal

The Goal

At this point i have gone as far as medical insurance will cover for my rehabilitation, such as therapy. Because of this my family has searched for alternative solutions. After a lot of research and contact with others we have found a medical group in Panama who have had great success in stem cell procedures. Unfortunately all expenses would be out of pocket and upon my family for the costs. My recovery has come along great so far but it has came to a slow down in the past 8 months. So we researched different solutions to help my recovery move forward again, thats when we came across stem cell. There are a lot of variations of stem cell solutions and different locations where they do it. Unfortunately the United States does not support it and so insurance helping with costs is out of the question. We came across a variety of locations but we found one that really stood out to us and sounded very intriguing. We spoke with them and really liked the program and procedures they offered. They seemed to really think with my injury and how much I have already got that there is a good chance it could benefit me. I got accepted into the program and everything is all set to go we just need to raise some money to help cover the costs. My family and I have decided to go ahead and pursue this type of treatment to help me and my recovery!

Gym

Seems like everyday im in here! Body is starting to feel a lot better now after being home for a couple weeks and eating good food trying to just stay in shape and keep building every day. Been doing a lot of legs and trying to keep up on my stretching. Still haven't noticed much change with movement but its a long process and doesn't happen over night. I'm always doing my own programs, researching new workouts and always seeking new info on how I can get stronger and more efficient. Excited tho next week I scheduled some therapy and going to use some of the machines there to help speed the process a long hopefully and give myself a better chance for improvement. All of therapy is still out of pocket for my family and I so donations are still needed and all 100% appreciated. I can't thank everyone enough that has already helped y'all are amazing! I'm going to keep working hard towards my recover and I look forward to the progress that comes. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Home Sweet Home

Been home almost two weeks now since my trip and everything seems to still be moving forward! Feeling some small changes in my feet as far as I feel more planted and flat footed which is a big thing. Been working out at home everyday and also going to the gym every couple days also about to start some physical therapy next week. Since i've been home I have stayed pretty busy just working out, playing basketball, making music, Riding my dirt bike and just the usual stuff. Feels good to be back and on more of a regular schedule and have some fun. Still just watching the clock and working hard trying to keep my progress moving in the right direction and staying as positive as possible.

Closure

Week four is now complete and it has been quite the adventure. From navigating to activities, food, grocery shopping, to the Injections and therapy. For the most part everything went very smooth and got around very well the whole month spent here and had a great time, ready to be home tho. Tonight is our last night here and we have a early flight around 7:30 am to Miami airport then from there to DFW. Only a couple hours on both flights so not to bad at all. I'd really like to thank everyone that has donated, helped, supported, and or been following my blog and everyone that made this trip possible for me! Been a great experience here and the doctors are great and seem to really be thinking positive about this so im greatly excited about seeing some changes in the future. Been a rough month on my body and Id like to say im excited to go home and give my body some rest but its right to Physical Therapy and the gym first thing next week! Im putting in 110% into my recovery at all times and dont plan on stopping for anything. These Stem cells are super active right now and for the next 6-8 months im going to put in everything I got to improving and get the most benefit from this past month of treatment. S/O to everyone thats been with me every step of the way since my injury and this is just the next step to progress and I thank ALL of you!

The first three weeks have been stem cells created for me and now my final week will be my own stem cells which they collected from my Bone Marrow extraction done during week one. So it will be done a little bit different my last week here but so far so great and Im really excited to get this finished up and let time take over!

Tuesday, October 23rd

Every new week starts on Monday here with therapy early in the morning and then preparing my body for Injections at 3pm. Therapy went good and after I drank lots of water and got hydrated plus had some lunch and just chilled out. The Injections can cause headaches but mine had been horrible, at least  I thought so until Monday night. It just all the sudden hit me and the headache just progressively started getting worse and it had gotten to the point where I was nauseated. So by the time 7pm rolled around I was in bed trying not to thrown up while i felt like I had 100 pounds on top of my head with someone hitting me on the back of my head with a hammer. By this time I had taken the meds the docs gave me, plus pain meds and anything I thought would help, but nothing did. So the morning rolled around and i was still in the same boat so I canceled therapy and called the doctors. After that I had to suck it up and try and take the car ride to the hospital for some meds and stuff. Turns out I was dehydrated on the inside? I guess I dont Know cause I drank 8 waters before and 4 waters after. But they gave me some stuff through an IV to rehydrate me. By tonight im feeling a lot better, not great but its all good. So bright and early again for therapy in the morning and Injections also in the afternoon. Lets hope tomorrow goes a lot better!

Week Two, Complete

The first two weeks here in panama have seemed to fly by! So far everything has gone really good for the most part, we seem to be getting around pretty good now figuring out how to navigate in the city. Treatment has gone very well and not much pain as far as while im getting the Injections and IV's. But after is another story. The symptoms of the procedures im getting is headaches, and I have been getting terrible ones. A couple hours after the Injections they start coming on and just get worse all through the night and of course I gotta be up at 6:45 am to go to therapy. So its not fun. They also make me really fatigued and just tired and then add the excruciating headaches and its not the best time of my life! But im getting through it and a month pain for hopefully some great improvements will be more than worth it! Other than the Stem Cell Injections and Therapy we have cruised around the city here and done quite a few things, gone to the malls and just explored! My birthday was this last Thursday and we went to the Panama Canal which was a cool thing to see since they made it so long ago and basically used shovels and their hands. After that we went to a mall called Allbrook and its the biggest mall in South America so that was pretty crazy. We were there for little over three hours and didnt even make it through half! Insane. Later that night since it was my birthday I wanted to find some good italian food, and we did. So the first two weeks have gone smooth and im hoping the last two go just as good if not better!

Week One Complete

First week here in panama is over and its on to the next! Everything so far has gone really great with the people, doctors and even just getting around the city. Over the weekend we went out to a touristy spot that had some sight seeing, local shops and fresh seafood. Food was great and it was cool seeing the sights out there from the otherside with the view of the city. The weekend went great and week two started off bright and early at therapy and later that afternoon at STI for my second set of injections. On friday I had no problems after the injections but monday was a different story. All  day monday and monday night was rough I had a major headache and a lot of muscle aching. The doctors said that it happens you just need to lay flat and drink lots of water, so since then ive been watching movies and downing the water. Feeling a lot better now and am excited for tomorrow. Therapy at 8 and Injections + IV tomorrow afternoon.
